What is the HDFC Biz First credit card?+
HDFC's business card in our catalogue, at Rs. 500 before GST, publishing a 55-day interest-free period — the longest HDFC offers and five days above the Indian standard. It asks a 750 credit score, charges up to 3.75% a month and carries the same 3.5% foreign currency markup as every other HDFC card.
What are the benefits of the HDFC Biz First credit card?+
The float, primarily. Fifty-five interest-free days on supplier payments, timed just after your statement date, is nearly two months of free working capital — worth more on a Rs. 500 card than any reward rate. It also separates business from personal spend for GST and year-end accounts, and can carry a limit underwritten on the business.
What is the eligibility for an HDFC business credit card?+
A credit score of 750, and documentation rather than a payslip: two years of ITR with the computation of income, six to twelve months of business bank statements, and business proof such as GST registration, a Shop and Establishment licence, a Udyam certificate or a partnership deed. Audited accounts if your turnover crosses the audit threshold.
Why was my business credit card application rejected despite good turnover?+
Because HDFC underwrites taxable income, not turnover. After depreciation and legitimate expenses, a Rs. 40 lakh turnover can show Rs. 3,50,000 of taxable income, which the credit model reads as a Rs. 29,000-a-month applicant. A missing or belated ITR for the most recent year closes most applications outright.
Can I get a credit card without an ITR as a business owner?+
Yes, through a card issued against a fixed deposit — five cards in our catalogue work that way and need no ITR, bank statements or business proof. None of them is HDFC. The deposit is the underwriting and the limit is roughly 80% to 90% of it.
Is a business credit card better than a personal one for self-employed people?+
For bookkeeping and float, yes. For rewards, no — a mainstream cashback card usually pays more per rupee. Take the business card if you want business spend separated and a longer interest-free period; take a personal card if you want returns.
Is HDFC Biz First good for paying overseas suppliers?+
No. It carries the same 3.5% foreign currency markup as every HDFC card, which is 4.13% with GST, or Rs. 4,130 on each Rs. 1,00,000 paid in a foreign currency. For a business importing or paying for foreign software, a 0% markup card from another issuer saves considerably more than the 55-day float earns.
