A late payment fee and interest will be charged. Missing payments can also impact your credit score.
The base is 1 Reward Point per Rs. 150 spent. That is multiplied 5X on spends up to Rs. 20,000 in a statement cycle and 10X on everything above Rs. 20,000, so the rate improves as the statement grows. International spends earn 5X. Rent, education, government and wallet load earn 3X, and insurance, utilities, railways and FASTag earn the 1X base only.
Rs. 0.50 when redeemed for hotel and flight bookings through the FIRST Rewards Gallery in IDFC's app, and Rs. 0.25 on everything else — gift vouchers, products, and paying with points on an online transaction. The same point is worth twice as much through one channel as the other, so where you redeem matters as much as what you earn.
Yes. IDFC publishes a 0% foreign exchange markup on international transactions. Against the 3.5% that most Indian cards charge, that is about Rs. 4,130 saved on every Rs. 1,00,000 spent abroad once GST is counted — and on a card whose rewards are built around travel, it is the single most valuable term on it.
Four complimentary domestic airport lounge visits a quarter, including one guest entry, four international lounge visits a quarter, and four railway lounge visits a quarter across India. The railway allowance is unusual — almost nothing else in this catalogue offers it — and the guest entry on the domestic side effectively doubles that allowance for somebody travelling with family.
Not in the usual sense. IDFC does not reverse the Rs. 5,999 plus GST fee on spending. Instead it pays an Annual Fee Payment Benefit: 7,500 Reward Points, worth up to Rs. 3,750, on Rs. 8 lakh of previous-year spending, or 15,000 points, worth up to Rs. 7,500, on Rs. 15 lakh. At Rs. 15 lakh that benefit covers the fee; below Rs. 8 lakh it covers none of it.
EMI conversions, cash withdrawals, fuel, and fees and charges earn no Reward Points at all. The 10X tier has a longer exclusion list on top of that — education, wallet load, government, rent, property, utilities, insurance, railways, FASTag, EMI, cash withdrawal, loan on credit card and fuel — which is why those categories appear separately at 3X or 1X.
IDFC publishes a 0% foreign exchange markup on international transactions on this card. Most Indian cards charge 3.5% plus GST on every foreign-currency transaction, which is about Rs. 4,130 on Rs. 1,00,000 of spending abroad.
Two trips a year at that level and the markup alone has cost more than this card's Rs. 7,079 fee. That is the arithmetic the card is built on, and it is why it belongs with the handful of zero-forex cards in this catalogue rather than with the general-purpose premium cards.
The base is 1 Reward Point per Rs. 150. Spends up to Rs. 20,000 in a statement cycle earn 5X that, and everything above Rs. 20,000 earns 10X — so unlike almost every other card here, the rate gets better as the month goes on rather than worse.
What breaks the pattern is the exclusion list on the 10X tier: education, wallet load, government, rent, property, utilities, insurance, railways, FASTag, EMI, cash withdrawal, loan on credit card and fuel. Those are not lost, they are moved — rent, education, government and wallet load earn 3X, and insurance, utilities, railways and FASTag earn the 1X base. Fuel, EMI, cash withdrawals and the card's own fees earn nothing at all.
A Mayura Reward Point is worth Rs. 0.50 on hotel and flight bookings through the FIRST Rewards Gallery in IDFC's app, and Rs. 0.25 on anything else — vouchers, products, or paying with points on an online transaction.
That is a two-to-one difference on the same point, and it changes the card's whole return. At 10X on a Rs. 150 base, a Rs. 30,000 month earns about 2,000 points on the incremental portion: Rs. 1,000 against travel in IDFC's gallery, Rs. 500 against a voucher. Anybody holding this card for the rewards rather than the forex markup should plan to redeem on travel, which is also where the rest of the card's benefits point.
Credit card fees, rewards and benefits change. Please verify the latest terms on the issuer's website before applying. CredSpy earns a commission on some applications; it never affects rankings or what is written here.
